                      R.T.S

R.T.S stands for reciprocal teaching strategies. R.T.S. is based on a story. Last year, you only needed one R.T.S. per week. But now you need three R.T.S's per week and students are complaining about too much R.T.S.

For those who don't know what R.T.S is R.T.S. comprises of prediction, question, clarify, outline, and summary. In prediction, you need to give 3-5 predictions based on something e.g. the title. In questions, you need to give 2 literal questions, 2 interpretive, and 2 universal questions. In clarification you need to answer the question. In outline, you put the story into a graphic organizer. Finally, you summarize the story. For

For instance, take the story Cinderella its summary would be: in this story, a young girl named Cinderella is forced to become a maid due to her father's death. One day the prince of that kingdom announces that there will be a ball for all women in the kingdom. Cinderella wants to go but she can't due her mean sisters and stepmother. So after her sisters and stepmother leave, Cinderella's fairy godmother helps her get to the ball in perfect condition. she arrives at the ball and dances with the prince. Then leaves at midnight. the prince finds one of her glass slippers and looks for her everywhere and eventually finds her and the prince marries her and at last, Cinderella had a happy ending.

These are some comments on students views on R.T.S

Meghna Pillai - R.T.S is way too much, it ok to have R.T.S but not too much
